Saudi Arabia based Middle East Paper Company (MEPCO) has announced the appointment of Eng. Marwan Diab as Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 January 2027, as the company prepares to advance its operational transformation and growth strategy.

Diab will succeed Eng. Faisal Alawi Haddawi, who will continue serving as CEO until the end of December 2026. MEPCO’s Board of Directors acknowledged Haddawi’s contributions to the company’s business development and strategic progress during his tenure.

Diab brings nearly 25 years of experience in capital intensive industries, including corporate leadership, business restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and the management of manufacturing operations and supply networks. He has held senior executive positions at Arabian Packaging, a subsidiary of Al Ghurair Group, Obeqi Chemicals Group and INDEVCO Group. His responsibilities have included strengthening manufacturing capabilities, improving operational performance and overseeing strategic business initiatives across regional and international markets.

Diab holds an MBA in Economics and Finance from Concordia University and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the American University of Beirut. He also serves on the Board of the Dubai Paper & Tissue Business Group under Dubai Chambers.

According to MEPCO, the appointment supports its strategy to improve operational efficiency, expand industrial capabilities and strengthen its position in regional and international markets. The leadership transition comes as the company seeks to build on its existing transformation initiatives and pursue sustainable long-term growth.
